PERFECT FOR ADVENTURE

They’re light and flexible. Designed to be with you in those beautiful narrow streets, typical of tiny Italian villages. White stone houses, bright red sunsets and the burning sunlight of the South, these are the places where they’re at their best. They love to travel and they’ve got a soft soul that makes them perfect for the wildest adventures. Rather, the more difficult, the better.

THE NAMES

Ost

In Milanese, he’s the host. A kind man, who has a good word for everyone. He’s responsible for Sundays dinners. On Sundays, Milanese families get together at restaurants to celebrate a special event: being lucky to get served.

The names

Fironatt

In Milanese, he’s the chestnut-peddler you usually meet at local fairs. This term comes from “fironi”: chestnuts were first cooked in the oven and then pierced like a necklace.

The names

Ciapparatt

In Milanese, he’s the man in charge of capturing mice and rats. Specifically “ciapà” stands for catching, and “ratt” are the rats. As most humid and smoggy cities, Milan was full of rats back in the day. “Va a ciapà i ratt” is a very popular local idiom which essentially means: “go to hell!”

BEHIND THE SCENES

Hidden gems around the city and stunning natural landscapes. The most beautiful part of any story is the collection of its behind-the-scenes. We’d love to show you where we went and the extraordinary people we met on the way.

Where were we?

Gravina in Puglia

For our video, we chose Gravina in Puglia. The “gravine” are erosive incisions in the land that can go down as deep as 100 meters. Similar to the eye to the famous Canyons, they’re dug throughout centuries by meteoric waters. Their walls, steep and sometimes similar to vertical cliffs by the sea, can be as close as a few meters or as distant as more than 200 meters.

Who did we meet?

Fantastic people

We’ve met many people, all extraordinary, kind at heart and, quite simply, beautiful. Benito the GPS grandpa, Nina the wonderful cook, and Peppino, the “Michele Alboreto” of Ape Cars. We even played a fiery hand of “briscola” with Federico aka Nerriç, Domenico aka zì Mingücc and Giuseppe aka Peppinücc.
