Cotton canvas and Shetland wool

We’ve combined the aged feel of Shetland wool with the practicality of cotton canvas. Shetland wool is made from the first shearing of lambs of their namesake, who typically have long coats with a super soft underfleece. Cotton canvas is a natural material that’s particularly durable and wear-resistant.

For the wool we put our trust in the hands of Moon, a Yorkshire company that dates back to 1837. It stands out as one of the last English spinning mills to have full vertical control over its supply chain. For the cotton we chose Brisbane Moss, a company interwoven with traditional English textiles that works with respect for the environment and raw materials.

Care

We recommend dry cleaning, as noted on the label. Each coat is delicate in its own way: a faithful companion that we expose to our daily adventures.

When not being worn, the coat should be kept on a strong and sturdy coat hanger with the pockets emptied so that the sleeves, shoulders and pockets are not distorted.

If it has been worn in the rain, let it air dry once inside, ensuring it is kept away from heat sources so the fabric stays fresh and new.

Design

We’re reinterpreting historic designs, through an artisanal approach: few pieces are produced at a time and many stages are completed manually. For outerwear that sports the Made in Italy stamp.

What you’re looking at was inspired by the worker jacket, that began appearing in factories and workshops around the late 1800s. It’s cut to the waist with wide sleeves, shirt-style wrist cuffs, and patch pockets.

We softened the street feel of this garment by uniting cotton canvas with herringbone wool on the yoke, the upper piece of fabric uniting the shoulders and collar.

Made in Italy

We put time and care into selecting the fabrics we use and the companies we work with. In Italy, each region has its own area of expertise. It’s like a huge open-air workshop.
